Putbajata is a village on the outskirts of Sundarbans in South 24- Parganas in the West Bengal. Here agricultural fields are mostly mono-cropped. While 80% of the people depend on cultivation, 10% depend fishing. More than two- third of the population live below the poverty line.

• Pisciculture in IIMC’s own pond.
