The IIMC was started by Dr. Sujit Kumar Brahmochary. He obtains his medical degree in Calcutta (Kolkata) and specialized in paediatrics in Belgium, with a scholarship from the Belgium Red Cross. While living in Europe Dr. Brahmochary realized that as a doctor he would be more useful in India than in Belgium and so he wanted to do something for the development of the poor people of India. He returned to Calcutta and joined with Mother Teresa as Medical In-charge at Sishu Bhawan. Mother & her Spiritual Director Fr. Celest Vanexem becomes his Philosophical Master.
After working there for two years, Dr. Brahmochary decided to start his mission that he wished to commit his life help to improve the situation of the poor & backward people. In 1989, he started working on his own mission in a poor rural area 30 Km from south of Calcutta. Where no medical facilities were available and the people had no access to any health care support.
Dr. Brahmochary started working in an outdoor clinic, Tegharia, in a very small house where he treated about 20 children a day. In the beginning, he wanted to minimize the suffering and promote health condition of mothers and children by providing medical care. Later the project slowly becomes the only dependable Center for the poor people for their medical, educational & economical and general improvement of their situation and so IIMC Mission began to step on.
After 16 years IIMC - Mission is an Institute where every one finds prosperity & HOPE.
WE SHALL DO SOMETHING MORE CREATING A BETTER LIFE FOR THE POOR
We all nations and every one in the planet Earth living together in a Global village. Scientific achievements, Technology, human relationship, and the birth of numerous nations are successful events of last century. In many respect worlds is much better place than it was years before. It is clear that in our country and across the Globe, the resistance to injustice and the fight for freedom, eradication of the poverty is an instinctive human response and it should be a continuous effort to all of us.
Some freedoms are not the end of the struggle, after climbing one high hill we can find there are many more hills to climb.
In every country and in every corner of the world, we should set up a movement and the efforts against oppressors.
Poverty, hunger, disease, death social injustice cannot be fought with weapons, they can only be truly challenged by our will force and values to the humanity.
If the world is a global village, it should not be for the means of exchange of goods information’s and trading.
Our Global village should grow with harmony of livelihood, security human values and over all DIGNITY for every one who lives in it.
In our IIMC mission we know what a Real Village look like because we are working in it and we are growing in it.
The exchange of Trade without values and human dignity will divide between rich and common poor prosperity without an equitable distribution of resource is not possible and will not be sustainable in the long run.
Progress of some people does not signify any progress till it has not touched the commonest one of the society “We can’t go to far leaving some one behind” - This world is full of richness but the poverty is everywhere, poverty in social justice, poverty in values and thanking power.
We live in an age of scientific and logistic area. Technology is everywhere but we can’t ensure the delivery of basic health care, food for the hungry people and basic education for every one.
The world leaders, scientist social thinkers and we all let us think Prudent, we are now in a Global village and let’s LIVE IN IT.
If we can recall what Mahatma Gandhi quoted ‘’whenever you are in doubt apply the full test. Look up on the face of POOREST and the WEAKEST one you may have seen and ask yourself if the step you contemplate is going to be of any use to THEM, will it restore him to a control of his own life and destiny’’
The IIMC mission (world wide) will work together to establish prosperity, peaceful Happy society surrounded by solidarity and friendship, where every one will be free from Illness, Illiteracy, Injustice and Ignorance.
I, on behalf of all IIMC members remain thankful to all the authorities, individuals and volunteers who has contributed and will participate in IIMC-mission.
We shall work together and hope coming years we shall meet many more friends who will join with us for the service to Mankind.
