INSTITUTE FOR INDIAN MOTHER & CHILD

Introduction

IIMC_Mission started as an organization covering exclusively medical services to the poorest people living in the rural villages in South 24 Parganas. Initially Dr. Sujit ran the Tegharia outdoor alone. With time the word spread, and the treatments covered by Dr. Suijt became hugely famous. Since then, the Medical project has increased a lot: a part from the Indoor centre and Tegharia, other 4 clinics have been established, involving in total 18 doctors. Every year more than 120000 are the beneficiaries of the medical services provided by IIMC. The medical activities not only directly benefit the patients, but also help IIMC to build a trust based relationship with the people in the most rural areas, allowing them to get to know and eventually apply for other projects and programmes, such as the microcredit and women empowerment programmes for mothers or the educational project for their children.
