The Institute for Indian Mother & Child (IIMC) is a charitable non-government organisation, committed to promoting child & maternal health, literacy, international solidarity & peace.

IIMC was founded by Dr. Sujit Kumar Brahmochary in 1989, with the goal of supporting people of West Bengal who are living in poverty and have no access to basic healthcare. As the organisation has grown, IIMC has expanded its activities to include a Medical Program, Health Education & Health Promotion Program, Network Program, Education & Sponsorship Program, and integrated rural developmental projects including women economical empowerment though Micro Finance Banking Program and an agricultural program.

The mission of IIMC is to improve the health and financial well-being of the people living in West Bengal, India. We do this by promoting child and maternal health, literacy; and accelerating peace and solidarity.

Children who attend school are more likely to grow up to be employed, and become leaders in their workplace and community. For this reason we have built 32 schools in West Bengal so far and enabled 11,000 children to attend school. We already sponsor 4000 of these children and our goal is to build more schools and sponsor another 4000 children in the next three years. Read more
