Activity Report of IIMC Education Unit for 2024

We have finished 2024 with so many different meaningful activities in rural area for poor and underprivileged women and children.

We celebrated IIMC’s 27th children Festival on 7th January in IIMC Outdoor Clinic, Tegharia, Sonarpur, South 24 Parganas. This year the Children Festival was dedicated to our wellwisher country Holland. After inaugural programme our National Flag, national flag of Netherlands and IIMC’s flag hosted by our board of trustee and coordinator of Netherlands Mr. Peter Thijssen, followed by releasing pigeons, balloons and coconut cracking etc. The Bonojyotsna Devi award was awarded to the top 3 students of IIMC who scored the highest marks in Madhyamik Examination (Secondary Exam.)

Then the very special inauguration of newly constructed extension part of IIMC outdoor building. It is very beautiful organised new contraction of 2nd floor of IIMC outdoor clinic at Tegharia, Sonarpur.

 

We had a sit & draw competition among 100 Children after cultural ceremony. After that delicious dinner was served by IIMC’s Indian and international Volunteers together to every participant and audience. Programme was concluded with prize distribution.

 

IIMC’s Dishari female students celebrated our Republic Day on 26th January 2024 at IIMC’s Indoor campus.

 

They also organised the Saraswati Puja (Goddess of Knowledge) at IIMC’s Indoor campus on 14th February 2024.

 

West Bengal Madhyamik board examination (Secondary exam.) was held on February 2024. Our 230 sponsored students appeared in this final examination.

Everyone was successful, among them Soumojit Ghosh (File No. – Spain 1232) got the highest marks – 609 out of 700 marks, that is Grade ‘A+’.

 

West Bengal council of Higher Secondary education organised final examination on March 2024. 125 of our Students appeared in this exam. Highest marks 434 out of 500 marks was secured by Deep Naskar (File No.- England 282).

4 IIMC Secondary school student appeared in the Secondary Board (Madhyamik) exam. Here is this List –

  1. IIMC SIKSHANGAN Hogolkuria – 21 Students.
  2. IIMC SIKSHANGAN Challapara – 26 Students.
  3. IIMC SIKSHANGAN Ushpara …….   
  4. IIMC Panchanan Sikshaniketan Jata – 19 Students.

 

IIMC’s education Unit organised Thalassemia Awareness Camp among our sponsored students and their parents by the help of the Rotary Club Calcutta Metro city in our Indoor centre.

 

We distributed new frocks, Salwar suits, T-shirts and 150 Sarees to our poor widows & their 250 children at our indoor campus for Happy Eid Festival on 6th April 2024.

 

Foreign Volunteers Sofia & Zoe from Italy organised Summer Camp with our sponsored students at our indoor centre on 15th May 2024 with 150 Students.

They organised 2 other Summer Camps for students at IIMC Hogolkuria Primary School and IIMC Netaji Subhas Pathbhawan Chakberia School on May 2024 respectively.

 

There were Students Health Check-up Camps among IIMC primary and secondary schools. Approximate 7000 (Seven Thousands) Students health check up was conducted by IIMC medical team.

 

Dishari girls students went to Dakshineswar Kali Temple and Belurmath for Excursion on 10th July 2024, with our senior & foreign volunteers.

 

We distributed new Frocks, Salwar suits, T- shirts among underprivileged 300 boys and girls, and 200 sarees among widows on 1st October 2024 for Durga Puja Festival.

 

Total number of IIMC sponsored students was 2800 in 2024.

 

During Christmas some of our sponsorers sent some gifts to their sponsored children. We bought Grocery item, Induction oven, pressure cooker, Utensils, Blankets Pullover, Bedcover, dress etc. in donations / monetary gift sent by sponsorers which were distributed all these to their sponsored children. Children and their family were very very happy.
