INSTITUTE FOR INDIAN MOTHER & CHILD

Health Service

The health care project started in 2014. Each WPC group has 2 health workers that are selected among the most educated and advanced-minded women of the group. These then attend training on nutrition, blood pressure, immunization, general health and hygiene, and family planning. The health workers are required to inspect houses of the village and talk to their community, in order to raise awareness on various health-related issues. Moreover, they also specially call pregnant mothers and explain them the importance of being healthy and eat properly. Although the health workers are currently only covering their knowledge, the WPC staff plans to give them basic medicines to be distributed to the community.
