In the campus of Dukerpole, Dhaki and Jata the IIMC has installed solar panels, providing energy for fans and light. Besides the ecological advantage, these are very useful as often in rural areas the amount of energy at disposal is insufficient to meet the demand of the community. It is not uncommon to observe power cuts off surrounding during night time, when the light is more needed. Solar panels, especially in a sunny area such as the West Bengal region, represent a concrete solution to this problem.
